iPhone blocks an arrow
Australian news. A man, 43-year-old was attacked by an arrow in Nimbin, New South Wales, Wednesday 13 March 2019. At around 9 a.m. , the victim noticed another man, who is known to him, standing outside his property and purportedly armed with a bow and arrow.
While suspecting the armed man had malicious intents, the man took out his iPhone, taking a picture of the attacker, and, the attacker shot an arrow at him at the same time.
Fortunately, the victim’s iPhone stands between him and the arrow and lodged the arrow in. Although the iPhone has paused the arrow, the momentum of the shot apparently too strong and pushed the iPhone back to hit the victim’s chin. Luckily, it was only a minor wound, and no serious treatment was needed.
Australian police arrested the alleged attacker later. The suspect will be charged of being “armed with intent to commit an indictable offense, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and malicious damage,” according to NSW Police Force’s Facebook report.
No information is mentioned about the iPhone model which protected the man from fatal injury. Perhaps the arrow won’t pierce through if the scree protector was a InsurShield iPhone screen Protector.
The suspect was later granted bail and is now scheduled to appear in court on April 15.
